November was a big month. It was a month of growth and decision-making.
You’ve been such a champ, as always :D, and I’m so grateful for all the effort you’ve gone to make our special day so special.
I knew that once you got the green light, we were off to the races, and you did not disappoint.
It took you but a week to discover the perfect venue, and book calls with half a dozen photographers and wedding planners.
We began leaking the details to our friends and close relatives to make sure that they save the date. While there has been a little pushback on our timing and choices, in large part the people closest to us have expressed their joy for us.
October 10, that’s the day we met, and the day we shall become one.
We finally made it to Six Flags Magic Mountain, and it was a blast. Okay, maybe there was a lot of waiting in line, and I still feel bad Kevin wasn’t able to ride all the rides after all that. He was a great sport though. Luckily, the Big Man seat we discovered could accommodate his huge chest, just in time for one of the best roller coasters of the day.
On the car ride home, we discussed a really sensitive subject for me… and although we didn’t exactly come to a resolution, we took another step towards it. Like everything else in life, it’s all about progress, and I love that you understand this too.
This month I traveled over Thanksgiving to be with my family. I haven’t been back there since last Christmas, and if my family got their way, I’d be back every holiday season. Well, next time they get to look forward to you as well, though we have to work on moving the calendar up or back 6 months 😀
Before my return flight home, a winter storm rolled through Chicago, and there was real concern I wouldn’t get home for several more days. Thankfully, my flight was only delayed, but it made me miss my connecting flight. I decided to drive from Las Vegas through the night – I didn’t have to spend another day away from you.
It’s a good thing that I did, because I had planned on asking your father for his blessing to marry you, which I did after we got dinner at your dad’s favorite local fish taco shop.
Darcie, I’m so proud to become your man forever, and while right now I can’t officially call you my fiancee nothing will give me greater joy…except for the day I can call you my wife 😉
Yours forever and always,
