Meat Lovers + Mushrooms Pizza

I’m back with another pizza recipe! In my book, you can never have too many pizza recipes. Logan and I make pizza most weeks, and I love trying new combinations.

Vegetarians and vegans – this is not the pizza for you. Sorry! This one is all about the meat!

Mushrooms go so well with meat so we added a handful as well!

INGREDIENTS

1 batch of dough (we use a low-carb dough even though we don’t eat a fully low carb diet, but you can use whatever type of dough you prefer)

1 tablespoon minced garlic

¾ cup marinara sauce (amount of sauce depends on size of pizza and how saucy you like it; we used Trader Joe’s tomato basil)

8 slices of pepperoni, chopped

1 sausage link (we used Trader Joe’s chicken sausage)

4 strips of bacon

5-6 oz mozzarella cheese, grated

½ cup mushrooms, sliced

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Once preheated, cook bacon for 8-10 minutes until crispy. Reserve bacon fat.

uncooked baconMake dough (if using low carb recipe) and spread on parchment paper (DO NOT use foil – it will stick!) until desired thickness.

Bake dough for about 8 minutes on one side then about 3-4 on the other side.

pizza doughHeat skillet to medium heat, then add bacon fat.

Crumble sausage and add to skillet.

Cook 3 minutes then add mushrooms and pepperoni.

meats in panCook until mushrooms are soft, about 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook 1 more minute.

cooked meat and mushroomsSpread marinara sauce on par-baked dough. Top with mozzarella cheese.

Top with crumbled bacon.

Bake 5-7 minutes, until warmed through. Sometimes we broil ours just for 30 seconds to 1 minute to get the cheese slightly browned!
